Setting up Android environment on macOS


I. Prerequisite:

  • macOS seirra 10.12
  • installed Java jdk
  • installed android SDK

II. Setup bash file

  1. Open terminal and type

$ nano ~/.bash_profile

add more line:

$ export ANDROID_HOME=/YOUR_PATH_TO/android-sdk

$ export PATH=$ANDROID_HOME/platform-tools:$PATH

$ export PATH=$ANDROID_HOME/tools:$PATH

2. Reopen terminal and type:

$ source ~/.bash_profile

3. To check it work, type the command in terminal:

$ android

~~The Android SDK Manager window will be appear.~~
